Eve of our 40 Day Adventure with God!

Is the excitement building? Are you as excited as I am about our 'Adventure'?
Fasting is a principle that God intended for everyone to be able to enjoy. It's not a punishment; it's a privilege! By making fasting a way of life, you can get closer to God and grow in your spiritual walk like never before. Fasting is one of the most powerful weapons God has given us for our daily lives. Through fasting, you can experience a release from the bondage of sin ... restoration in your relationships ... financial blessings ... spiritual renewal ... supernatural healing and so much more! Simply Stated, Biblical Fasting is refraining from food for a spiritual purpose, so as for me, I will be giving up one meal per day for 40 days! You seek God today and ask Him what He would have YOU to do.. I want you to be led of God and have freedom to participate however He leads YOU. God will impress upon you what to 'give up' while you seek Him.
Next, you need to make a list today:
1) The reason I am fasting: ( my list looks something like this: a life changing encounter with God, becoming a church of His presence, Godly character, etc)
2) What will your fast look like: (ex. one meal per day, 1 day per week, 3 days, etc)
3) I commit to fast from Jan.1 to Feb 10: sign it and date it
You don't have to be an apostle Paul or a Billy Graham to pray well. There is no special skill involved. It is something, rather, that we become good at by just doing it. And that's the problem. Most Christ followers don't do it. We all wish we prayed more. We believe it's important, we just don't do it. I'm going to encourage us for these next 40 days to spend quality time with God and finding the solutions to our problems in the Word of God.
The Scripture contains the solution to EVERY problem of attitude, relationship, communication, conduct, and behavior (II Timothy 3:16-17).
We will strive to develop Biblical Habits and turn from our own desires and live in a manner pleasing to God.
Are you ready? Make today count.. get your supplies, make your lists, and I'll see you back here tomorrow for Day 1.
Blessings,
Cathie
