Day 30 No More Excuses

Psalm 51:1-3(AMP), “1HAVE MERCY upon me, O God, according to Your steadfast love; according to the multitude of Your tender mercy and loving-kindness blot out my transgressions. 2Wash me thoroughly [and repeatedly] from my iniquity and guilt and cleanse me and make me wholly pure from my sin! 3For I am conscious of my transgressions and I acknowledge them; my sin is ever before me.” We know we sin. We know when we sin.  The Bible tells us that we’ve all sinned and come short of the Glory of God, and most of us realize that is true.  However, many of us seem to come up with enough excuses to continue in our sin.  Now I’m very thankful for the Grace of God, but does that mean we continue to sin? God forbid.  It’s rising up in my spirit right now that Jesus said things like, “go thy way and sin no more”.  Somehow we still continue to disobey the same Scriptures again and again, believing that we’re the exception to God’s written rule.  We don’t give God a tenth of our income to the church because we give in other ways... we don’t submit to spiritual authority in our life because we just can’t see things their way… we don’t control our tongue or our attitudes because that’s just the way we are… we don’t care because… we don’t honor because… we don’t love because…and the list goes on and on. We don't obey God because we all have enough excuses to stay convinced that it's okay to continue in our sin!  We must give up our excuses. God is calling up to repentance.  Our only hope is to cry out to God for mercy.  Today is the day to turn our back on sin and our hearts toward God.

For the Harvest,
Pastor James
