I'm truly humbled to be sitting here on 1-1-11 blogging my first of forty days of fasting. I anticipate that each of you will be postured for prayer during these days. I want to encourage you to spend extra time in God’s Word, listen carefully to His Spirit, and purify your heart and spirit of any and every matter that would soil His Call and His purpose for your life. I will be referring a lot to Becky Harling's book: Rewriting Your Emotional Script. So grab your notebook and pen, sit back and let's dive into this 40 days together. Pastor James and I are here to encourage you through this journey. Feel free to post, text, or email us when you need to. We will be praying for our readers for 40 days, so get your requests in.
I dedicate these next 40 days to Jesus Christ, my Holy Healer. I praise You for redeeming my life from the pit. I love you and will be forever grateful!
The Bible says that God is love. He doesn't just HAVE love, He IS love. When you invite Jesus to be the Lord of your life, the Bible says that He actually makes His home in your heart. THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A MINUTE. The Creator of the universe, who cannot be contained by anything, chose to make His home on the inside of your heart. That means that perfect love is on the inside of you. First Corinthians 13 tells us what love looks like. When we are walking in God's love, we are patient. We are kind. Verse 5 says that love keeps no record of being wronged. That's simply forgiveness. Love always forgives. That doesn't mean that the other person was right; it only means that you are choosing to let go of the bitterness, hurt, anger. Instead of concentrating on the bad things that may happen to you, spend time thinking about what you can do for others. Love looks for ways to improve someone else's life. Love brings out the best in other people. Ask yourself, "Who can I encourage today?" "Who can I build up?" Someone in your life needs to know that you believe in them. Tell them today. Amen?
Improve the lives of those around you!
For the Harvest,
Cathie
